Dress Code

IDT has a dress code for every dance style to ensure the safety of the dancer. Please check your dancers dress code prior to their first class. Click the button below for a PDF view of our entire dress code.

Ballet Dress Code

Dress code for ballet is a leotard, pink or flesh colored tights, ballet shoes, and hair in a bun. Please see each level for specific leotard color. All ballet dress code items can be purchased in the IDT store located in the office.

Ages 3-4
Creative Ballet I

Creative Ballet/ Tap

Pink leotard. Tutu's, skirts, and sweaters are optional. 

Both Ballet and Tap shoes are required for Creative Ballet/ Tap class

Ages 5-6

Pre Ballet/Tap

Creative Ballet II

Lavender leotard. Tutu's, skirts, and sweaters are optional

Level I, I/II

Dark Purple Leotard. Skirts are not allowed. Sweaters and leg warmers are allowed at the beginning of class.

Level II, II/III

Burgundy Leotard. Skirts are not allowed. Sweaters and leg warmers are allowed at the beginning of class.

Level III,  III/IV

Hunter Green Leotard. Sweaters and leg warmers are allowed at the beginning of class. Skirts are allowed for Pre Pointe/ Pointe classes only.

Level IV, IV/V

Navy Blue Leotard. Sweaters and leg warmers are allowed at the beginning of class. Skirts are allowed for Pointe class only.

Level V

Black Leotard. Sweaters and leg warmers are allowed at the beginning of class. Skirts are allowed for Pointe class only.
